The Wiseguise started life in 1977 when the Drummer Kerri and the Keyboard Player Denise started jamming together. Kent was originally looking after the PA and organising gigs but starting learning to play the Sax and joined the band on stage in 1980. Over the years, we have had some members come and go, notably Ben Groth on lead guitar, Mark Luscombe on bass guitar as well as early members David Borrill, Eric Woodard, Colin Maitland and many more.

Tim came in as singer in 1986 and took over on Guitar when Ben Groth moved to NSW in 1988. We recorded 2 albums with this line up, Among Other Things in 1990 and Double Shuffle in 1993. We arrived at our current line-up around 1996 when Andrew took over from Tim on Guitar and Tim switched to Bass Guitar when Mark Luscombe moved away. Chelsea Davis (nee Gosden) joined as a second keyboard player in 2003 and played until 2011.

We have had great fun playing together at engagement parties, weddings, anniversary parties and dances and thought we should make a good recording of some off our favourites.

So after not playing together for over three years, we all turned up at Frog Lagoon Studio, Kenmore in February 6th 2016 and recorded about 29 songs in one day, most of them in one take. It was meant to be a rehearsal so it's a bit rough in spots but It captured something else - the fun of playing together. Thanks to the wonders of modern recording equipment, we were able to fix up the mistakes and re-sing or replay a part that needed fixing. This album contains 14 tracks. Volume 2 coming soon.

The Wiseguise were formed in Brisbane in 1977 by the Drummer Kerri and the Keyboard Player Denise. The Sax player, Kent, joined the band on stage in 1980.
